Modification of the databases v.1.1
The Projects of the Parrés Association with Art, as part of the II ALMA MEDITERRANEAN ART Exposition and with the development of the Department of Culture of the City of Almería Calls for national and international artists to participate in this second edition.
The event seeks to enhance pure technique and Mediterranean light, consolidating Almeria as an essential meeting point for contemporary watercolour.
All artists, of all nationalities, whose work meets the following essential conditions, can participate in this competition:
- The technique used must be at least 90% watercolour paints on paper.
- One to three works per author, original, unpublished and previously unattributed.
- The work must be signed on the front, with the author’s name and surname on the back, as well as the telephone number.
- In an envelope attached to the back of the work, identified with the name and surname of the author, the following documentation must be included: a one-page curriculum vitae, containing the name and surname, the artistic name, the title of the work, the dimensions, the return address, the telephone number and the e-mail address.
Format: whether the surface of the painted work is 56 x 38 or 38 x 56 or 56 x 76 x 56 x 56.
That is to say, two sizes allowed vertically or horizontally.
A maximum margin of 5 cm is allowed (unpainted paper area), respecting the central artistic hue
- That the works be presented without framing.
- That the works be sent in a tube, preferably with a resistant packaging that prevents their possible deterioration, so that they can be used to be returned to the author after the end of the Competition.
- If the delivery is made in person, there will be no need to pack your bags.

THE THEME IS 100% FREE.
A pre-selection phase is set up during which all those who wish to participate in this International Competition would send via the website the digital image of the work (about 3 MB), and will fill in the technical data during registration. , as well as the data of the author (name and surname, telephone and email, by e-mail register on the website https://mediterraneanart.es/eventos/ii-certamen-internacional-de-acuarelas-ciudad-de-almería
DATE: The registration period is open until December 31, 2026.
With the works received by this means, the jury will pre-select those that it appreciates to exhibit and that will be the subject of a prize or an honourable mention.
All the accepted works will be exhibited in a virtual exhibition of the 360-degree digital model platform as well as on the website where they will be exhibited and will obtain the votes of the visitors. The works will be selected to be exhibited in the rooms of the different museums of the capital ALMERÍA.
Once this pre-registration has been completed, the pre-selected authors must send their works to the address indicated.
Your work is of the highest quality. Filling out the form is child’s play, but beware of the photos:
- You can upload up to 1 photo per artwork (JPG format, between 1MB and 5MB).
- You can also reserve your place for the closing dinner or leave it for later. As you prefer.
- Your companion will enjoy similar privileges.

The works may be delivered personally or sent by an agency, at the risk and peril of the participant. The Parrés Projects with Art Association will take the utmost care in the management of the works received, but is not responsible for any loss, theft, breakage or damage that may result from transportation or unforeseen accidents.
The author who wishes to do so may, on a personal basis and at his own expense, take out an insurance policy for his work.
Virtual jury: Composed of curators and international experts, it will evaluate the photographs to choose the finalists.
Don’t forget to send high-quality photos!
- Physical jury: Composed of masters of painting and culture, it will evaluate the living works to award absolute prizes, technical prizes and mentions.
- Compatibility: The winners of the Almagra Grand Prizes will not be able to accumulate prizes in categories of €500 or those upon acquisition, but they will be able to win artistic residencies, materials and promotional prizes. We want the distinctions to reach as many artists as possible.
In any case, the jury’s decision will be final.
Hybrid (physical in Almería + digital twin)
With the selected works, an exhibition will be organized in the various spaces provided. The jury’s decision will be communicated by e-mail or, failing that, by telephone, to all participants. The award ceremony will be held in front of the public, coinciding with the closing ceremony of ALMA II
The winner of any prize is obligated to appear to collect it, unless:
- has their residence outside Spain; (in which case they must delegate to another person 48 hours before the event)
- Force majeure
